About This Project

Thompsons is one of the leading legal practices in Scotland. We were approached by the firm to migrate the website’s custom CMS to an open source (Joomla!) CMS system. At the same time a decision was made to refresh the website design, make fundamental changes to the website architecture, consolidate various peripheral applications into the core system and enhance all client response and engagement forms to improve the customer journey and general UX.

BORN deployed this upgrade seamlessly, managing the project in several sprints. The net result being a highly responsive 4,600+ page website with a user-friendly CMS system and improved rankings and conversion due to the improved site architecture and vastly improved UX. More importantly, the client now owns a portable open source CMS platform that can be supported by numerous web development teams in the UK should they decide to part company with BORN.

We were later asked to host the website, transferring the site onto one of our superfast German servers, it now loads in a little over one second for a much improved customer experience. BORN continue to provide SEO, technical and social media support to this leading Scottish law firm.
