10 Jul SEO news – Global news media waking up to search engine optimisation benefits
Growing numbers of journalists, news media and publishing groups are starting to use the skills of search engine optimisation (SEO) consultants and specialists to drive increased online visibility.
Content is king online and using it to secure higher positions in the rankings of search engines such as Google, Bing, Yahoo and Ask is proven to help companies generate business in global markets.
Appreciating the importance of SEO in today’s networked world, various online new media publications owned by leading publishing organisation Thomson Reuters are adopting a new service designed to improve SEO.
Called OpenCalais, the service is also designed to make it easier to personalise and localise news by adding ‘intelligent’ search features such as tags and language support.
A Thomson Reuters spokesman said, “With these updates, we are increasing the relevance, impact and appeal of the OpenCalais service worldwide, for everything from content operations to SEO.”
