Google releases the top searches of 2012

The phrase “Euro 2012” beat “Tickets to Olympics” and “Kate Middleton” to the claim the title of Britain’s most searched for term of 2012.  There were a number of surprises including Andy Murray and Tom Daley coming above Jessica Ennis and Mike the Knight beating Homeland and Towie to the top spot for television searches.

One Direction earned a disappointing 6th place behind Lucy Spraggan, Will.i.am and Psy.  Psy had a better result in the most searched for song chart beating “Call me maybe” and “Blow me one last kiss” to the number one spot with the ubiquitous “Gangnam Style.”
