Web Developer

This position offers the chance to join a small specialist Digital Marketing and Technology Company to develop performance websites, web applications and mobile applications for business.

 

Our clients stretch from Colombia, through Central and North America, throughout the UK and into Europe. We specialise in legal, financial services, tech, telecoms and pharma.

 

We work in the most competitive environments using the very latest technologies to create the best possible user experience in web applications.

 

Much of what we do is ground breaking and so the technologies used are often new. For this reason we provide our technical staff the time and space to learn these new technologies and skills, so that all our finished projects are of the highest standard, robust and functionally perfect.

Customer service is paramount to us, so the individual should be, above all, personable and able to communicate at all levels.

 

You must have, at the very least, a basic understanding of SEO which we can build upon with practical training and through regular workshops. You will receive thorough training in optimisation techniques, theory and practise working within an accomplished, professional team of developers and copywriters.

 

You won’t need to be a designer – but you will need to have the ability to work closely with our superb design team and contribute ideas and technical solutions.

 

Great attention to detail is fundamental.

Copywriter & Social Media Executive

The challenge is to make our creative solutions new and fresh, and to persuade people to purchase or use our clients’ products or services offered online. You may also be required to contribute to the wider off-line marketing activities of the group. You may also carry out any other appropriate duties as required to help the BORN team meet their objectives.

 

The role further requires keeping up to date with the latest developments in SEO and social media marketing and the creation of fresh search engine optimised online content for client marketing initiatives.

 

Key responsibilities

 

  • Meeting with the PR and marketing manager, IT manager, directors and lead copywriter & account manager to establish new and ongoing SEO and social media initiatives
  • Work closely with members of the team and the head of PR and marketing manager, lead copywriter & account manager and others to ensure that the editorial/design focus of all copy meets the defined communication needs
  • Work closely with the PR and marketing manager, lead copywriter, account manager and IT manager to monitor the impact of copy on relevant target audiences and, as appropriate, make adjustments to improve their effectiveness in meeting communication objectives
  • Amending and revising campaigns according to feedback from the PR and marketing manager, IT manager, directors and lead copywriter
  • Assist the directors develop and make presentations of BORN’s services to current and potential clients via face-to-face meetings, telephone calls and emails
  • As a member of the marketing team, to contribute to the overall strategic planning of campaigns and projects
  • Submitting ideas for social media and general online marketing initiatives and discussing progress with the PR and marketing manager, IT manager, directors and lead copywriter
  • Write and edit corporate, department or project specific copy or social media content for online and/or print publications as directed by the PR and marketing manager or directors to agreed deadlines
  • Assist the company’s search engine optimisation (SEO) efforts by creating and optimising content to achieve objectives
  • Generally contributing to the overall strategic planning of social media campaigns and online marketing campaigns/projects
  • Carefully proof-reading copy to check spelling and grammar
  • Editing corporate, department or project specific copy for social media, online and/or print publications
  • Working on several online campaigns at once, under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Reviewing competitor activity, industry forums and databanks to keep abreast of developments and initiatives in SEO
  • Support project documentation and administrative tasks
  • Develop and maintain good client relationships
  • Keeping up to date with popular culture and trends in Social Media

Job Description

 

Due to recent expansion, we now require a creative Online Copywriter with a good imagination and dazzling writing skills to become a part of our effervescent and highly successful team.

 

You will be writing website copy for a variety of different audiences, using your creative abilities to produce fresh and compelling work.

 

An ability to turn out high volumes of copy on a daily basis is vital, as is the talent to write in various styles and tones; including for our exacting clients in the financial services and legal/law firm sectors.

 

You will be required to carry out detailed research into unfamiliar and sometimes complex subjects in order to produce authoritative content for end users.

 

We’re looking for someone who can think ‘outside the box’, who can grasp a concept quickly and who has the confidence and initiative to speak up with their own ideas.

 

Skills Range:

 

  • Excellent English and spotless grammar are a must and some previous writing experience, preferably of the online variety, is desirable.
  • An understanding of the internet and a proficiency with computers is essential, while knowledge of SEO techniques would be a distinct advantage.
  • A high level of attention to detail must be maintained at all times and proofing skills would be enormously useful.
  • An ability to stick to a brief is required, along with the initiative and enterprise to contribute ideas and develop current projects.
  • Being able to communicate clearly and work as part of a team is vital for anyone joining BORN, but we’re also looking for someone who can organise themselves and work under their own initiative without requiring constant supervision.
